Curriculum Development Experiences

  • Was part of the curriculum development committee for four years in Kyoto University’s graduate school of global environmental studies. Helped in developing multi-disciplinary curriculum in the environmental management master program and global environmental studies Doctorate program.
  • Has served in the internship committee for more than 6 years, and helped in the graduate school internship development.
  • As the founder and president of Asian University Network for Environment and Disaster Management (AUEDM), developed guiding principles for curriculum development in disaster risk reduction.
  • Currently, member of the new curriculum development committee in Keio University’s graduate school of media and governance, faculty of policy studies and faculty of environment and information.

Evaluation of courses

  • Evaluated the course in the University of Madras in India for the disaster risk reduction subject induction in master of science studies
  • Evaluated the disaster studies program in program in North West University in South Africa
  • Currently, engaged in the university network of Bangladesh for induction of flood risk reduction in the master and under graduate course curriculum in 12 universities in Bangladesh as a part of JICA JST SATREPS project
  • As a visiting professor of Sichuan University in China, advised in the development of the disaster management course and curriculum for the master program in Institute of Disaster Management and Reconstruction
