New Paper: Assessment of housing exposure to accelerated coastal erosion in Keta Municipality of Ghana

It is revealed that erosion is having a huge impact on houses in the municipality as over 40% of houses are deemed bad or dilapidated due to erosion. Although the rate of erosion is considered reduced from initially predicted 2 m–1.5 m pa (per this study), its impact on houses is highly fueled by the spatial coverage of the erosion (about 60% of the shoreline) and how the houses are spatially distributed near the shore- line. With building maintenance frequency of 15% and a relatively aged houses; houses are constantly becoming vulnerable to the erosion. For full paper, please click:
